How To: Sleep

A Mixed Media Instructional video showing the true dangers of sleeping!

How To: Sleep is an award winning short film depicting techniques of Live Action, Computer Generated, and 2D Animation. Please note this film is still entering festivals and won't be released until September 2024

I've produced this project since the original pitch was greenlit in September 2022, and have been privileged to have a hand in the writing, design, and animation, working closely with two directors, and managing the weekly production. When co-ordinating a team of 20 students, my day-to-day tasks could range from tracking the progress of the project to issuing feedback on animation or illustrative work, arranging meetings, and even featuring in the short film itself.

We maintained progress with smaller milestone deadlines to showcase the development of the plot every 3 - 6 weeks, as well as weekly meetings to update on progress and weekly goals. In order to track the self-development of our team I began documenting the project through an informal blog to show both the highs and lows of the project which is slightly more in-depth.

This is a project very close to my heart, having a hand in the full development of the project and working very closely with both directors on this project has shown me the full process from start to finish with days full of smiles and days full of frowns plus the occasional grey hair or two (but it was all worth it by the end!) and I'm very grateful to have been able to work on this project and the skills I was able to develop myself along the way.
